Just when Romney was looking like the only horse left in the running, Rick Santorum from Pennsylvania clobbered the Mitt in Missouri and Minnesota (Minnesota is generally a liberal state – remember Hubert Humphrey?) and narrowly defeated him in Colorado.  The Grey Peregrinator swooped in with an I told you look about him.  “Weeks ago I told you the ticket should be Obama / Romney.”  Romney is far too liberal for the Republican base.  Even should he win the nomination, the conservative wing and Tea Party activists will sit out the election.

I think part of the anti-Romney reaction comes from his tax avoidance (if not evasion) tactics.  I still cannot abide a President with offshore bank accounts in places where drug dealers cache their ill-gotten gains.  They would have the opportunity to lobby our future President and maybe launder drug money through Bain Capital.

Not that Santorum is Mr. Clean.  Facebook friends from the Keystone State report that he has had his hand in the till and abhor his religious pronouncements.  Might we have Catholic Law (vs Sharia Law?).

Mr. Obama must be loving every minute of this continuing farce.  The Republican Party’s inability to run a primary campaign are indicative of a lack of ability to run a government.
